The company attended this leading event for the fruit-growing sector, bringing together growers, researchers and businesses to share knowledge, innovations and agronomic challenges.

Agroferti once again took part in the IRTA Fruit Growing Conference, held on 21 and 22 October in Mollerussa. Now in its 31st edition, the event brought together nearly 100 companies and has established itself as a valuable platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences among stakeholders across the sector.

Over the two days, attendees had the opportunity to discover the latest advances in fruit growing through technical presentations, field demonstrations and exhibition areas. Key topics included the effects of climate change on crops, new fruit varieties, efficient water management and technological innovations in fruit production.

A Space to Listen to Growers' Needs

For Agroferti, participating in this event provides an opportunity to strengthen direct relationships with growers, better understand their needs and identify new opportunities for collaboration with other companies in the sector.

As Josep Llobera, Sales Director at Agroferti, explains: "Our customers come to see us and share their concerns and suggestions on how we can improve. This feedback is extremely valuable as we prepare for the next growing season."

The presence of companies specialising in plant health also provided opportunities to share experiences and explore potential synergies to address the challenges facing agriculture.

Climate Change and Plant Nutrition Among the Main Challenges

One of the key issues highlighted at this year's event was the impact of climatic conditions on fruit crops. In this context, Agroferti is exploring alternative nutritional solutions to help address physiological disorders affecting certain varieties.

One example is the Conference pear variety, which has experienced leaf desiccation problems this year. This issue was also addressed in one of IRTA's technical presentations, which explored possible causes and solutions.

The conference also coincided with an important period in crop management. In fruit trees, leaf fall marks the beginning of certain treatments, such as urea applications, which help reduce fungal inoculum levels.

Meanwhile, recent rainfall has supported activity in the cereal sector, coinciding with barley and wheat sowing and basal fertilisation operations.

Commitment to Innovation and Close Relationships with the Sector

Joan Lladós Solé, Head of Operations at Agroferti, highlights the value of these events in "finding synergies between growers and companies" and learning about the latest technological and agronomic developments presented by IRTA.

By participating in the 31st IRTA Fruit Growing Conference, Agroferti reaffirms its commitment to maintaining close relationships with agricultural professionals, listening to their needs and continuing to develop solutions tailored to the challenges of modern agriculture.

The overall assessment of this year's event has been very positive, both in terms of direct contact with growers and the opportunities to exchange knowledge and collaborate with other professionals and companies in the sector.
